Understanding the credit system on Hirechain

Referrals work in recruitment because of reputation. Every time you create a referral, you put your name and reputation on the line. Here's how we've built that into Hirechain.

What are referral credits?

When you refer a candidate to a job on Hirechain it costs you 1 credit. This means if you start with 5 referral credits, you can make 5 referrals before you run out.

However, you also earn credits back depending on how good your referrals are.

How do I get more referral credits?

The best way to get more credits is to make great referrals. When you create or accept a referral, it is sent to Hirechain for review. When our team reviews it, they will update its status to one of the following which in turn will increase or decrease your credit balance.

StatusOutcome
Client Review+2 - You get your credit back plus an additional as the candidate was forwarded to the client.
Hirechain Shortlisted+1 - You get your credit back. Hirechain has shortlisted the candidate pending client feedback on existing pipeline.
Hirechain Pass+1 - You get your credit back. Hirechain has decided to pass on the referral and it will not be progressing. This could be because stronger candidates are coming through.
Hirechain Rejected-1 - You lose one credit. The candidate was not quite suitable but was not close enough that we do not consider them to be completely unsuitable.
Unsuitable Candidate-5 - You lose 5 credits. The candidate was referred with incomplete information or clearly does not meet the hiring criteria.
Withdrawn (No Consent Given)-5 - You lose 5 credits. If the candidate reports to us that you referred them without their permission you will lose 5 credits and potentially access to Hirechain.

If you consistently make great referrals, you should never run out of credits. You may run out if you are waiting for us to review a new referral, but please bear in mind that our team always processes these as quickly as they can.

What happens if I run out of credits?

Your credit balance will reset every 7 days.

There is currently no way for us to manually increase your credit balance, but it will reset every 7 days to the balance associated with your tier, which is detailed in the Tiers page.
